TLBS - Phase I 2000 San Pablo Avenue, Oakland, CA Completed - January 2006 Construction is complete on Phase I of the Thomas L. Berkley Square Project, the new home of the Alameda County Social Services Agency and the North County Center for Self-Sufficiency Corporation. The 4-story multi-use office building, financed by a $52.2 million bond measure, and is the newest addition to the Uptown Oakland development district. Phase I’s design and construction was accomplished by means of a guaranteed maximum price contract with Hensel Phelps Construction Company (HPCC). The contract included all design, site work, building core and shell, and tenant improvements for the County lease, as detailed in construction documents developed jointly by SUDA and HPCC. With more than 100,000 square feet of office space and public areas, this facility is part of an overall strategic capital improvement program launched by the County of Alameda to improve facilities County wide. |
